Speaking of pictures, this BlackBerry houses a 3.2 megapixel camera, giving you amazing clarity for a gadget that is basically used for phone calls.
As far as the battery is concerned, this part of the product review is pretty much self-explanatory. No worries here, since the Lithium-Ion battery is definitely bound to last you a long time. When you start out with the Curve 8900, the standby time can run up to 15 days – comfortable enough for your business and personal needs. Meanwhile, talk time can last for more than 5.5 hours.
Core Features
Coming to core features, this is one heck of an exciting phone with a color display of 2.4 inches LCD, and a whopping resolution of 480 x 360 pixels and more than 65,000 colors that can be displayed onto the screen – it seems like the camera has become an integral part of the Smartphone repertoire with more and more users depending on the cell phone for their ‘Great moments.’
Speaking of color, the 8900 itself is silver, while the style comes in both Candy Bar/PDA. If you’re afraid of your kids damaging your phone, not to worry, there is a warranty of a year on this business Smartphone. The Curve also houses a speakerphone, which is great for a ‘round table conference call’ or just a chat with family and friends. In this way, this Smartphone works a lot like a computer and does most of the stuff that a notebook or a laptop can do. For instance, there is voice-activated dialing available along with the usual additions on the average cell phone such as a to-do list, an alarm, a calculator, calendar, a vibrate option; and in case you’re bored with the usual ringtones – polyphonic ringtones.
Camera
The 3.2-megapixel camera on this BlackBerry is more than sufficient for you to take high quality photos and videos. It has a built in, auto-focus camcorder, picture stabilization features and much more. You can share your videos with friends and family making your special occasions like holidays and birthdays even more special.

It has MP3 ringtones - MP3 Real Music ringtones are supported and so is downloadable music. There is also a ringer profile in case you’re one of those people who like to constantly change ringtones or keep different ring tones for various situations (work place, home etc). Streaming Multimedia support is also available with Media Player and support for video streaming is an excellent function in itself.
Email and Internet
In terms of email, there is an easy device setup wizard to set up your email in case you’re not tech savvy. And don’t forget, with AT&T, you have unlimited access to Wi-Fi hotspots across the country – that means you can pretty much connect to the Net using your BlackBerry Curve 8900 during your domestic travels.
Talking about some of the unique aspects of this special BlackBerry; one is access to Yahoo mail, Hotmail, Windows Live, AOL, photo-sharing site Flickr, social networking sites Facebook & MySpace – this is especially handy if you’re familiar with these websites/ applications and use them regularly on your PC.
